My girlfriend has received a residence permit and will shortly move to live with me in Sweden. What do we need to do when she arrives here?
Your girlfriend should register with the Swedish Tax Agency in order to obtain the last four digits of her personal ID number. She should also contact the social insurance office [Försäkringskassan] in order to be included in the social security system. If she wishes to study Swedish, municipalities offer Swedish for Immigrants (SFI) courses. Contact your home municipality for more information on these courses.
