Becoming a Swedish citizen by application

In certain cases, it is possible to become a Swedish citizen by notification, which is both easier and cheaper. This applies to children, persons aged between 18 and 20 and Nordic citizens (citizens of Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Norway).

If you have sent your application or document by registered post you can track it on the Post Office's website
. There you can enter the number of your registered post and find out if your letter is on its way or has arrived at the Migration Board.
