Moving to live with someone who is not an EU/EEA citizen

If you are a citizen of a country which is not a part of the EU and you wish to move to live with a family member in Sweden who is also not an EU-citizen, you must have a residence permit.
If you are an adult your family member in Sweden must have a permanent residence permit. A child, however, can be granted a residence permit in order to be reunited with a parent i Sweden, even though that parent only has a temporary residence permit.

On the following pages you will find more information about moving to someone who is not an EU-citizen. Please read all the information. This will increase you chances of submitting a complete application.
