This information is for you who's family member is considering submitting an online application and wants to know if he or she meets the requirements. You can also read this information if your family member has already submitted an online application.
If you have received an e-mail instructing you to fill out a questionnaire you must accept the conditions of use at the bottom of this page in order to register as a user. You will then receive the login information you need to fill out the online questionnaire.
For the Migration Board to be able to process a web application from your family member, as a relative you must:
be a Swedish citizen or have a permanent residence permit in Sweden
be at least 18 years of age
have a valid e-mail address
be able to scan and attach a copy of your passport, or ID card, when you fill out your questionnaire
have a program that can read PDF format, such as Acrobat Reader.
Maintenance requirements
In certain cases, you must also meet what is called a maintenance requirement. This means that you must have a home large enough and of a certain standard for you and your family to to live in together. Read more about who is subject to the maintenance requirement and what it means.
Automatic check
Your family member must indicate your personal identity number and your e-mail address when he or she applies on the web. With the help of your personal identity number, the Migration Board checks if you meet the first two requirements on the list above, and whether you are subject to the maintenance requirement or not.
Questionnaire on the web
To contribute to your family member's application for a residence permit, you must fill out a questionnaire. The Migration Board will contact you via e-mail, and inform you when your family member has sent in the application. Note that you should not register as a user before you have received an e-mail from the Migration Board.
By accepting the user conditions below, you will go on to the login page where you can register. When you have registered as a user, you will get a new e-mail with your login information.
If your questionnaire has not come in within two weeks from the date your family member submitted the application, we may reject the application.
Some browsers do not recognize the Migration Board's security certificate and give a message that says that the connection is not secure. This is not the case. If you get this message, please ignore it.
