Visting employers in Sweden

If you have entered Sweden to meet with an employer, for a job interview for instance, you may apply for a residence and work permit after entering the country.
The following are required for the application to be approved:
  • You must apply during the period you are visa-exempt or during the period for which your visa is valid.
  • The employer must have a special need for the work to begin immediately and there must be high demand for labour in the occupation. Occupations for which there is high demand are found on a special list posted on this website.
  • It must cause your employer serious inconvenience if you were required to travel to another country to apply, for example, it would make it difficult for the employer to run the business.

The conditions for being granted a work permit must also be met.
