.

SSYK codes

Enter the work code for the tasks your employee is to carry out in the form Offer of Employment. The work classification is to be made in accordance with SSYK (Swedish Standard for Work Classification).

More information about SNI and SSYK can be found on Statistics Sweden´s website, se links  in the right column, where you also find a compilation of the relevant SSYK codes. Please observe that new professions will be added and that the list is not complete. Please contact the Swedish Migration Board if you are unsure about whether you are affected by the stricter requirements.

Employers must declare

If you want to hire someone from a non-EU country, then you must meet the requirements specified under the header Hiring from non-EU countries, which can be found in the left column, and also:
  • Show how the company can guarantee the work permit applicant´s salary. You must be able to demonstrate that conditions are met for the payment of wages for at least three months. This is done with the help of documents such as statements showing available funds, annual reports, annual accounts from previous years, balance sheets and progress reports for previous and current years or contracts that have been entered into.
  • Tax statements for the last 3 months. Note that this applies only if you have previously employed persons from countries outside the EU and those persons have received work permits due to their employment with you.

Companies registered outside the EU operating in Sweden

Businesses that are registered in a non-EU country, and which are operating in Sweden in one of the industries mentioned above are required to have a branch registered in Sweden. This branch will be responsible for specifying the terms of employment in the Offer of Employment, as well as for submitting information about the employment, when needed, to the Swedish Migration Board. The branch is registered at the Swedish Companies Registration Office (Bolagsverketexternal link, opens in new window).
