Moving to someone in Sweden
These pages provide information for anyone wishing to move to Sweden to live with a close relative. The following individuals are classified as close relatives:- your wife, husband, registered partner or common-law spouse

- your children.
Most permits must be completed before emigration to Sweden. The application must be submitted to a Swedish mission abroad or via our online application service.

Easier for children without passports to move to their parents in Sweden
On January 18, an important decision came from the Swedish Migration Court of Appeal. In the decision, there is a new interpretation of the legal requirements for proving one´s identity when applying for a residence permit based on family ties to a person living in Sweden.
