The Application Unit will close

Starting 1 February 2018 you can no longer apply for asylum in Gävle.

You who wish to submit a first-time application for asylum can do so in Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö.

Unaccompanied children can also visit the Migration Agency’s offices in Boden, Umeå, Sundsvall, Örebro or Norrköping.

Reception for asylum seekers

Turn to this office if you have any questions about housing, allowances and LMA cards while you wait for our decision. This office will also help you if your asylum application has been rejected and you are returning to your country.

This is where the Migration Agency examines your application for asylum.

Detention

A detention centre is a locked facility for asylum seekers and other detained foreign nationals. A person may be detained in connection to leaving Sweden.
