Permits

Here, you can submit applications for studies, work, visits or to come live with someone in Sweden.

Special opening hours during the year

Book an appointment for your visit if you are going to:

  • have your fingerprints and photograph taken
  • apply for an alien's passport or a travel document
  • collect an alien's passport or a travel document
  • extend a tourist stay in Sweden.

How to get to the Permit Unit from the train station:
Pass under the tracks, away from the station building, in the direction of tracks 8-10. Walk up the wide stone steps leading up to Hotell Radisson Blu. Turn right at the top of the steps and you will find a bus stop. Take bus number 13 towards Coop Forum/IKEA and get off the bus at Danmarksgatan.

After getting of the buss continue straight ahead and cross the street. Continue in the direction of the bus. Turn left at the Volvo sign and pass through the gates. The Swedish Migration Agency is located in the middle of the building on your left.

Asylum examination

This is where the Migration Agency examines your application for asylum.

Reception for asylum seekers

Turn to this office if you have any questions about housing, allowances and LMA cards while you wait for our decision. This office will also help you if your asylum application has been rejected and you are returning to your country.
