After the end of the year, seasonal workers will need employment contracts
In order to get a permit as a seasonal worker, it is no longer enough to have a job offer in Sweden. Instead, starting 1 January 2025, you will need to have an employment contract signed by both parties.
In November, the Swedish Parliament decided on a legislative change which means that anyone who is applying for a work permit for seasonal work must have an employment contract. The employment contract must be signed by both the employee and employer. In the past, a job offer was sufficient.
The change will take effect on 1 January and applies to all applications on or after that date.
