Online questionnaire for close relatives of someone who is applying for a residence permit to live with them in Sweden
This information is for you who have a family member considering submitting an online application and want to know if he or she meets the requirements. You can also read this if you have a family member who has already submitted an application to live with you in Sweden.
If you have received an email instructing you to fill in a questionnaire you must accept the conditions of use at the bottom of this page in order to register as a user. You will then receive the login information you need to fill in the online questionnaire.
For the Migration Agency to be able to process an online application from your family member, as a relative you must
- be at least 18 years of age
- have a valid email address
- be able to scan or photograph and enclose a copy of your passport, or ID card, when you fill in your questionnaire
- have a program that can read pdf format, such as Acrobat Reader.
In certain cases, you must also meet what is called a maintenance requirement. This means that you must be able to support yourself and have a home large enough and of a certain standard for you and your family to live in together.
Your family member must indicate your personal identity number and your email address when he or she applies online. With the help of your personal identity number, the Migration Agency checks if you are at least 18 years old, and whether you are subject to the maintenance requirement or not.
To contribute to your family member's application for a residence permit, you must fill in a questionnaire. The Migration Agency will contact you via email, and inform you when your family member has sent in the application. Note that you should not register as a user before you have received an email from the Migration Agency.
By accepting the user conditions below, you will go on to the login page where you can register. When you have registered as a user, you will get a new email with your login information.
If your questionnaire has not come in within two weeks from the date your family member submitted the application, we may reject the application.
