Dissemination of incorrect information about the Dublin Regulation
The Swedish Migration Agency has learned that incorrect information is being disseminated about the Dublin Regulation – specifically, that it is
possible to get your application for asylum considered in several EU countries. This information is incorrect.
The Dublin Regulation is still in force within the EU and the Schengen countries. This means that if you have been refused asylum in Sweden and travel to another EU country to seek asylum there, you may be sent back to Sweden.
If you have previously received accommodation and benefits from the Swedish Migration Agency, you will lose that right if you are sent back. The reason for this is that you lose your right to financial support when you leave the country.
