If you have been granted a residence permit under the Temporary Protection Directive, you may be entitled to financial support from the Swedish Migration Agency. If you have nowhere to stay, you will get help with accommodation. You can also choose to find your accommodation on your own.

If you choose to arrange your accommodation on your own, you will have to pay the rent yourself, but you can apply for financial support for daily expenses such as food, hygiene items and clothing. However, your right to financial support may be affected by where you choose to live.

The Swedish Migration Agency has a list of residential areas with social and economic challenges. Anyone who chooses to live in such an area may have their application for financial support rejected by the Swedish Migration Agency.

Here you can find out if your address is located in an area that may affect your right to compensation from the Swedish Migration Agency.

You may also lose the right to financial support if you provide incorrect information, such as an address other than the one where you actually live, for example a post office box address.
