The Swedish Migration Agency clarifies what other terms of employment mean

The Swedish Migration Agency has published a new legal position statement to clarify what other terms of employment mean. Other terms of employment cover all benefits and obligations that apply to an employment contract, in addition to wage and insurance protection.

Wage protection and insurance protection are also terms of employment but they are mentioned specifically in the law (Chapter 6, Section 2 of the Aliens Act). Benefits that employees are entitled to are mentioned in the laws concerning leave, working hours and the working environment.

In order for a work permit or an extended work permit to be granted, the conditions for benefits that all employees are entitled to must be satisfied. Exceptions for errors in an application for an extended permit can only be made if a reasonable explanation can be given. But the cause of these errors cannot be exploitation by the employer.
