If you are allowed to stay
If you have applied for asylum and have been granted a residence permit, you have the right to live and work in Sweden.

If you have been granted a residence permit as a refugee, your permit is valid for three years.

If you have been granted a residence permit as a person eligible for subsidiary protection, your permit is valid for 13 months.

If you have a residence permit with refugee or subsidiary protection status, or due to impediments to enforcement or exceptionally distressing circumstances, you may be entitled to family reunification.

If it is not possible for you to obtain a national passport, you may apply for a passport from the Swedish Migration Agency.

If you want to stay in Sweden after your temporary residence permit expires, you must apply for an extension. You can apply for a permanent residence permit in connection with applying for a residence permit extension.
