Schooling

Children who are in Sweden through the Temporary Protection Directive have the right to attend preschool and primary school. They also have the right to attend secondary or secondary special school if the education starts before they have reached the age of 18. You can enrol your child for school at the place where you live or talk to your reception unit if you need help enrolling your child for school.

Children who are in Sweden because of the Temporary Protection Directive are not subject to compulsory school attendance.

Adults do not have the right to attend school but can take part in various activities known as early interventions (TIA) where you can learn Swedish, among other things.
