About the Swedish Migration Agency Granted residence permits – overviews

Here you find statistics about granted residence permits for work, studies, family reunification, international protection (asylum) and persons from the EU/EES. The monthly statistics are updated on the 15th of each month. If the 15th falls on a public holiday, the statistics are published on the next working day.

Temporary limitation of asylum statistics

From 15 July, we are temporarily limiting certain asylum statistics. This concerns statistics for June and the following months in these files (only available in Swedish):

The files will still be published, but the concerned asylum statistics will be marked with dashes as from June.

The reason for this interruption of the statistics is that the EU's pact on migration and asylum came into force on 12 June. The changes in the asylum process means changes in how data is registered in the Swedish Migration Agency’s systems. Until we can publish correct and comparable statistics, we publish the number of registered applications on the page International protection (asylum).

Monthly statistics

The monthly statistics show first-time applications, decisions and granted at all three instances (the Swedish Migration Agency, the Migration Courts and the Migration Court of Appeal).
