New assessment of Afghan citizens’ ability to obtain passports
The Swedish Migration Agency’s country information shows that Afghan authorities now can issue national passports to their citizens within a reasonable time. This means that Afghan citizens living in Sweden no longer automatically have the right to an alien’s passport.

The Swedish Migration Agency can now be found at more locations around the country
The National Government Service Centre and the Swedish Migration Agency are expanding their collaboration on services for in-person visits. After the end of this year, the Swedish Migration Agency's service centres will close for drop-in visits. For several of the services that were provided at the Swedish Migration Agency's service centres, visitors will instead be referred to other channels.
