You apply for the repatriation grant by submitting the form together with the required documents.

The Swedish Migration Agency processes your application
The Swedish Migration Agency reviews your application and the information you have provided. We will contact you if we need more information or if you need to visit us.
If you have protection status, we will initiate an investigation into revoking your protection status.

You receive a decision
We will send the decision to your official registered address.

The grant is paid to your Swedish bank account
You receive the first portion of the repatriation grant, which is 20 percent of the total sum.

You have left Sweden and can request the next payment

After 15 months abroad, you can request the final payment
Once 15 months have passed since you left Sweden, and your previous permit is no longer valid or has been revoked, you can request to receive the third and final payment.
