Median salary to be updated on 17 June
On 17 June, Statistics Sweden (SCB) will update the median salary in Sweden. This will affect the salary level requirement for people applying for a work permit.
To be granted a work permit, the employment must enable the employee to make a good living. This means that the employee must have a monthly salary that amounts to at least 80 per cent of the median salary published by Statistics Sweden (SCB) and that was current when the employee applied for a work permit.
This year, Statistics Sweden will update the median salary on 17 June. Applications for work permits received after that date will be considered based on the new median salary.
Applications received before 17 June will be considered based on the median salary that was current at the time of application.
