The EU has decided that the Temporary Protection Directive will be extended for another year. This means that if you have temporary protection under the Temporary Protection Directive, you will need to apply for an extended residence permit if you want to stay in Sweden after 4 March 2026. Before that date, you will receive information about what you must do to apply for an extension before your residence permit expires.
Remember that you must register with the Swedish Tax Agency in order to be registered once you have had a residence permit under the Temporary Protection Directive for one year.
