It is now easier to log in to the Swedish Migration Agency's e-services
Starting Tuesday 27 January, it will be easier to log in to the Swedish Migration Agency's e-services and access more services. If you log in with a username and password, you no longer need a mobile phone number.
The Swedish Migration Agency uses two-step verification so that people who do not have a Swedish bank-id can log in securely to our e-services. Two-step verification means that you receive a one-time code each time you log in. Previously, the one-time code was sent to your mobile phone number, but sometimes we have problems sending text messages to foreign phone numbers. Therefore, the Swedish Migration Agency will now be sending the code to the email address you provided when you created your account, i.e. your username.
Access more services
This new method is more reliable and will make it easier to log in to our e-services. For those of you who previously were unable to receive a code via text message, this means that we can now offer more services. For example, you will be able to see more information and book appointments on My Page.
For those of you who already had access to two-step verification, this change means that you will need to check your email instead of your mobile phone to receive your one-time code.
If you no longer have access to the email address you provided when you created your account, you will need to create a new account.
