To bring to your booked appoint­ment

When you have booked an appointment to visit the Swedish Migration Agency, you must bring your ID card or passport and in most cases also other documents to your appointment. On this page you can find out what to bring.

When you arrive at the Swedish Migration Agency you must in most cases register your arrival in the registration system.

What will you do during your visit?

You must bring your passport with you to your booked appointment.

You and your co-applicants must bring the following to your booked appointment:

  • passports or other ID documents that you have sent copies of when you applied in the e-service
  • any additional documents if we have asked you to bring them.

You must bring the following to your booked appointment:

  • a valid passport from your country of origin or a Swedish ID
  • your residence permit card if you already have one.

If you have applied for a visi­tor’s resi­dence permit via the e-service

You must bring the following to your booked appointment:

  • your passport
  • your previous residence permit card, if you have one.

If you have applied for a visi­tor’s resi­dence permit using a form

You must bring the following to your booked appointment:

  • your passport
  • your previous residence permit card, if you have one
  • a credit card to pay the application fee or a receipt showing that you have paid the application fee.

If the appli­ca­tion for a visi­tor’s resi­dence permit is for a child under 18 years of age

You must bring the following to your booked appointment:

  • the child’s passport
  • a power of attorney from the child’s parent(s)/legal guardian(s) for the person accompanying the child to the Swedish Migration Agency.

If you have already applied for an alien’s passport or travel docu­ment through the e-service

You must bring the following (if you have them) to your booked appointment:

  • ID card
  • a passport from your home country or other documents verifying your identity
  • a previously issued alien’s passport or travel document (if you have had one)
  • your residence permit card.

If you have already turned in your passport to the Migration Agency in connection with another case, you do not need to ask for it back in order to bring it to your appointment.

If you are going to apply for an alien’s passport or travel docu­ment by paper form

Fill out and bring one of the following forms to your appointment:

If you have a child younger than 18, fill out and bring Consent for the Swedish Migration Agency to issue an alien's passport for a child under the age of 18 (247011) Pdf, 701.3 kB. as well.

You must also bring the following (if you have them) to your booked appointment:

  • ID card
  • a passport from your country of origin or other documents that verify your identity
  • a previously issued alien’s passport or travel document (if you have had one) or the police report stating that you have lost your alien’s passport or travel document
  • your residence permit card
  • a credit card to pay the application fee if you are obtaining an alien’s passport.

If you have already turned in your passport to the Migration Agency in connection with another case, you do not need to ask for it back in order to bring it to your appointment.

You must bring the following to your booked appointment:

  • a valid ID
  • a debit or credit card to pay the fee if you are going to collect a travel document.

The Swedish Migration Agency does not accept cash, and cannot release the travel document until the fee has been paid.

If you are going to collect your first LMA card

You must bring the following to your booked appointment:

  • the receipt you got when you applied for asylum.

If you are going to collect a new LMA card or extend the vali­dity period of your exis­ting LMA card

You must bring the following to your booked appointment:

  • the card you already have.
