The application for an extended residence permit with protection under the Temporary Protection Directive is now closed
If you did not apply for an extended residence permit by the deadline of 4 March but wish to remain in Sweden, you must reapply for protection under the Temporary Protection Directive, as well as for accommodation and financial support.
The Swedish Migration Agency is now starting to stop providing accommodation and financial support to people who have not applied for extended protection in time. It is therefore important that you reapply for protection as soon as possible if you wish to remain in Sweden. You do not have the right to work until you have received a new decision.
You can use the e-service that has been set up to handle first-time applications for protection under the Temporary Protection Directive, but you can also visit the offices of the Swedish Migration Agency.
If you have applied for an extension
If you have applied for extended protection you keep all the rights afforded to you by the Temporary Protection Directive, including the right to financial support and accommodation, and the right to work. Your application is complete and the Migration Agency can make a decision when you have made an appointment and submitted your application, even though your appointment to be fingerprinted and photographed takes place after 4 March.
