The easiest way to apply for a residence and work permit is electronically via the Swedish Migration Agency's website. Paper applications can be submitted at other embassies and consulates that have migration operations, but applicants should contact the authority before visiting.

To book an appointment for an interview following a request from the Swedish Migration Agency, Syrian citizens can contact the embassies in Abu Dhabi, Amman, Cairo and Riyadh as well as the general consulate in Istanbul according to current regulations (UF 2016:3). Other citizens who belong to Khartoum's area (Sudan and Chad) should primarily contact the Swedish embassy in Addis Ababa.

Residency cards that have already been sent to the embassy in Khartoum cannot be resent. People in this group can turn to another embassy or consulate in the region where they have is migration operations.

Sudanese citizens who want to apply for a Schengen visa to Sweden, and who are outside of Sudan, can turn to the external service providers that we cooperate with in the country of residence. They forward applications to our staff who handle them in the usual way. There is currently no possibility to apply for a Schengen visa to Sweden from within the Sudan.
